This immersive full day workshop, which can optionally be enhanced with professional actors, teaches participants how they can contribute to creating a neuro-inclusive workplace.
They’ll be immersed in activities, such as the memorable and experiential ‘New World Rules’ game, to reveal the nuances of neurodiversity, debunk myths, find practical ways to remove barriers and celebrate unique talents. With actionable strategies and a collaborative audit, participants will leave the session equipped to advocate for neuro-inclusion.
By the end of this session, participants will:
“The neurodiversity awareness training offered by RightTrack Learning was truly enlightening. This workshop proved to be an invaluable resource, providing our team with a profound understanding of what it means to live with a neurodiverse condition and equipped us with practical strategies for better accommodating neurodiverse individuals in our daily operations.
Lauren shared insightful examples and invaluable practices, from navigating interactions with guests and team members to implementing inclusive hiring and training procedures specifically designed for neurodiverse employees at Bubala. The workshop can serve as a crucial resource for those aiming to foster a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all.”

(1) A New World: The “New World Rules” interactive communication activity immerses participants in scenarios where they must navigate unfamiliar communication norms. This innovative exercise aims to build empathy by highlighting the challenges that neurodivergent individuals may face under “typical” workplace communication norms.
(2) Understanding Neurodiversity: We’ll explain what is meant by neurodiversity and other related terminology. A term matching game helps to familiarise participants with different neurological differences and their characteristics, including Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia. Participants will discuss how neurodiversity can affect perception and interaction in the workplace.
(3) Lived Experiences and Strengths: We will share real-life examples of neurodivergent individuals’ experiences in the workplace. Using case studies (optionally brought to life with actors), participants will learn about the day-to-day experiences of neurodivergent individuals and how workplace norms can create barriers. We will emphasise the importance of reframing the conversation around neurodiversity to highlight the positive strengths and contributions of neurodivergent employees. Participants will discuss the insights gained from the case studies and scenarios and make a start on their progressive action plans.
How this looks with actors:
Participants will observe a scenario where two team members discuss a neurodivergent colleague, providing an example of how everyday conversations in the workplace can impact the inclusion and perception of neurodivergent employees. Participants will have the chance to intervene, using their new awareness to challenge biases or misunderstandings shown in the discussion. They will practice suggesting more inclusive language and approaches, learning to actively encourage workplace dialogue to be more respectful and supportive of neurodiversity.
(4) Inclusive Communication: Building on the insights from the “New World Rules” activity, they will examine how different communication modes, comfort zones, and boundaries impact workplace interactions. This exercise aims to challenge participants to step outside their usual communication methods, highlighting how small adjustments can make communication more inclusive, such as choosing clear and direct language, allowing more processing time, and being mindful of sensory differences.
How this looks with actors:
This comes to life with a scenario that explores the impact where a unique communication style leads to misunderstandings, conflict, and tension, but can be reframed as an opportunity for collective growth and learning. The situation emphasises the need for awareness and understanding of neurodiversity. Participants will put their new-found knowledge into practice, questioning the characters to understand the background to the situation and collaboratively identifying potential next steps. These ideas will feed into development of personal action plans.
(5) Reasonable Adjustments and Legal Frameworks: Participants explore their legal obligations regarding accommodations for neurodivergent employees. They’ll discuss reasonable adjustments and how they can practically be implemented. An accessibility audit activity encourages participants to assess current workplace practices and identify areas for improvement.
(6) Best Practices for Managers and Teams: Participants will examine key frameworks and strategies that enhance neuro-inclusion. They will collaboratively evaluate their own and their team’s practices regarding neurodiversity. This includes reflecting on assumptions and biases, meeting etiquette, well-being support, and giving/receiving feedback.
(7) Action Planning for Neuro-Inclusive Workplaces: Participants will develop a thorough action plan to help encourage a neuro-inclusive environment. This plan will include specific personal objectives and strategies for continuous learning and improvement. The goal is to equip participants with a clear, actionable roadmap, ensuring ongoing progress towards inclusivity.
