I had recently been asked to locate a suitable conference venue and accommodation in Birmingham for 9 different training events with delegate groups from 22 up to 50. The client was looking for somewhere with a good standard of professionalism, support and of course, as with all clients, a venue that would provide value for money!
We had a list of hotels in Birmingham that could accommodate that number of delegates with only 6 weeks’ notice. These were promptly visited and dismissed due to various reasons. A supplier recommended that we try Aston Conference Centre, part of the Aston University Business School. I immediately thought student accommodation and scuffed cream corridors.
However, I couldn’t have been more wrong!
We are now part way through the programme delivery and I felt I just had to blog that this is one of the best venues we have ever worked in. This purpose built building has a broad range of different sized rooms, professionally trained staff who really know the importance of providing quality support to ensure a successful event. Innovatively designed accommodation paralleling any 4 star hotel. Equipment, restaurant facilities and food is of the best quality. The thing that really strikes you is the level of personal attention and customer service.
I walked into the venue last night – having not been there for 6 days. The place was full with I understand 400 delegates and the receptionist still managed to say hello and called me by name. Very impressive.
So, if you are thinking events and need somewhere in the centre of the country, try it. I think you will be as impressed as I am.
