7 Steps to Modern Management Training
The workplace is changing, and the way we manage must evolve with it. Traditional top-down leadership is giving way to flatter structures, annual appraisals are supported by real-time performance feedback, micromanagement is out and collaborative leadership is in. Meanwhile, managers face increasing responsibility and pressure leading diverse and often dispersed, hybrid and remote teams.
Backed by the Institute of Leadership, this modern management training programme features seven flexible modules that cover the essentials of effective, forward-thinking training for managers. Whether you’re upskilling new leaders or developing experienced managers, the content is fully customisable to suit your needs.
Course Content
Each module is designed to be delivered in one day, but we can adapt the format to address specific developmental or logistical considerations. Swap modules, add new ones, or tailor content to suit your managers’ experience levels.
Escape Room Launch (Optional)
Kick things off with a dynamic, high-impact Escape Room challenge – set expectations, break down barriers and set the tone for collaborative learning by understanding how individuals work in the context of a team.
Module 1 – Understanding Myself as a Leader
Gain self-awareness using Myers-Briggs insights to explore what drives your behaviour and how to adapt your style to lead with authenticity and impact.
Module 2 – Influential & Collaborative Communication
We explore how to share information, communicate ideas, and influence effectively to create a common language (and add a bit of fun.)
Module 3 – Managing People & Teams in a Hybrid World
With help from professional actors, this module dives into real-life scenarios to teach the essentials of managing hybrid, remote, and in-person teams day-to-day to create consistently high-performing teams.
Module 4 – Coaching for High Performance
Move from “command and control” to coaching with this highly practical module. Explore how we can play more on pull, rather than push, methods to develop and coach others to become the best they can be.
Module 5 – Inclusively Leading Diverse Teams
Using professional actors we bring to life the impact micro-behaviours and assumptions have on how we performance manage, support and build rapport with every individual within our diverse teams.
Module 6 – Managing Change with Agility & Resilience
Step into experiential learning where delegates are immersed in a complex business simulation to explore how to drive and successfully embed change.
Module 7 – Self-Management & Personal Effectiveness
Finally, we explore how to we can utilise forward-thinking concepts around habits, time, wellbeing and personal resilience to become agile, robust and efficient individuals in a fast-paced world.
Optional bespoke work-based learning transfer assignments and one-to-one coaching can be included throughout.
